So hello guys – back today from my seasonal hibernation with some cool denim advice!
When it comes to winter, it’s always better to opt for jeans that are made of a heavier weight denim and with some room between your legs and the jeans. Tight and super skinny jeans with a lot of stretch tend to keep your blood from circulating and are much more freezing to wear when it’s colder.
My best bet is always a slim boyfriend jean, independent of the wash or style. But I prefer no rips – obviously! Raw indigo, untreated denim, as any kind of dark and unadulterated wash is the top trend right now. And of course black, always black. Oh and, that’s the most important factor for me RN – high and higher waisted! There is no way you can keep up a sliding pair of jeans struggling with a heavy sweater and a bulky coat…unless, you opt for some suspenders LOL!
So, let me share with you some of my favorite winter jeans and also what I style them with. Cold doesn’t mean ugly and un-sexy, really. You can stay warm AND dress insanely cool and edgy! Or classic, if this is more your style.
Like the Everlane indigo wash skinny jean paired with their cropped mock-neck cashmere sweater – for less than $200 you can rock these and be warm. That’s a super classic way to go.

These raw jeans from Frame – I am about to obsess đŸ˜‰

Almost like a wide leg and very high waisted, I love the red boots on this image, but I never wear bright white with raw jeans, and they tend to “bleed”… A black turtleneck is a cool option. Especially this one from Aqua with the hi-low hem (you can tuck it partly into the waistband) and the cut-out detail at the neck.

Who doesn’t fancy owning a pair of Dsquared2 babies for le$$$ – we got you covered! These are a total hit! Depending on your mood, wear them with studded booties and a heavy knit sweater. Or a flirty silk button-down and a black tuxedo jacket.

The Topshop Boutique boyfriends are made of a real heavy denim and are quite baggy and high waisted. These are good if you want to layer some pantyhose or even leggings underneath.

Wear them with heavy duty Docs or with a pair of Frye lace-up army boots for an edgy look.
One of my most preferred styles is the Citizens of Humanity Emerson slim boyfriend. The faded and distressed black wash is super insane and the fit is neither too baggy nor too skinny. A perfect slouchy je-ne-sais-quoi look. Pair these with a ripped or distressed sweatshirt and you’re good to rock your (outer) rebel!

And of course, there is always the refurbished vintage pair, like these black jeans from RE/DONE. These are truly a wear-everywhere pair of jeans. No limits or restrictions on how to style them. They are very versatile and easy to wear with any kind of footwear because of their cropped ankle length (28″). And if you are on the shorter side, just cut them off.

These are my absolute go-to pair and I mainly wear them with all black. Shoes, sweater, everything black. Very dramatic and always successful! But there are days when I feel like going a bit “overboard” and I add a bright colored oversized sweatshirt and red pointy toe booties – and ta-da! here’s another one for you!
