Citizens of Humanity introduces a Spring 2018 collection that is a culmination of innovative technology paired with artisan craftsmanship in its details and design. In an ever-saturated market crowded with choices, Citizens of Humanity continues year after year to define the new benchmark of premium denim. With the growing appreciation for the value of true authenticity, the denim label looks to research and development methods to come up with innovative ways to create the highest quality products.

The label continues to develop the Premium Vintage assortment each season to highlight the craftsmanship of the denim.

For Spring 2018, Citizens of Humanity pays homage to the 1970’s with strong retro influences that run throughout the collection. Denim styles feels grown up in darker, dressy rinses in exaggerated, mile long flared styles such as the Chloe Super Wide Flare.New novelty details are introduced this season including the knife sharp crease of the Kaya Kick Flare. Interesting hemlines remain a focal point with frayed hems and ankle length flares that draw the eye down to leg opening. In washes, the collection offers minimal wash treatments, focusing on flat washes to dead stock raw denim.

For the Fashion capsule, the theme of reworking the classics continues. A modern interpretation of the iconic classics; taking the best in class items from each category and reworking the proportions and details to create new, interesting silhouettes. The timeless trench coat is reconstructed in a very lightweight fabric made from a cotton/nylon blend so it is oversized in proportion yet still has movement. The refined utilitarian concept continues as well in new style such as the Avery Chino and Eli Work Pant.

A new 1970’s inspired tracksuit is also introduced this season with a strong street attitude, making for the perfect airport uniform.

Additionally, leading into Spring, there is a growing interest and appetite for fresh ideas and attention grabbing silhouettes such as the Tulip Jean, a cropped flare with an open pleat.

The SCULPT capsule continues to be a part of the Citizens of Humanity basics range, available seasonally as part of the lines most innovative, yet timeless and wearable denim. Utilizing the most innovative denim technology, the SCULPT offerings are made from a one-of-a-kind Lycra weaving technique that has the power to shape and hold unlike anything else. The fabric contours and lifts the body creating the perfect silhouette and long lasting fit that does not stretch out. The SCULPT offerings continue to evolve this season with smart fabrics and new attributes, focusing on a subtle wash range spanning from clean dark shades, mid flat hues, to light stone washes in warm, sunbaked color tones.

Citizens of Humanity continues to implement new and innovative laundry methods to improve the look of the vintage washes, without comprising the authentic feel of the products.

For Spring, the wash concept that has gained importance this season is an emphasis on sharp, flat 70’s washes with minimal wash treatments and bleach shades reminiscent of 70’s blues. With the denim landscape evolving in both fits and fabrications, the brand stays true to its vintage character, while continuing to produce a collection that is unparalleled in quality and fit.
