And again, we’re not disappointed with the Y/Project newest fall and winter 2018 collection. Oversized, baggy, embellished – all we have expected of the brand, is there! The question is, how wearable are these denims in “real” life? I mean, if you’re not a Jenner or Hadid, of course 😉

“Y/Project‘s Fall/Winter 2018 collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week, is a vibrant and refreshing take on winterwear. The fun range offers unique pieces like experimental statement denim, oversized outerwear and whimsical separates.

Creative director Glenn Martens’ imagination comes to life in the form of classic striped sweaters paired with dramatic skirts and the eccentric denim silhouettes the brand is known for. Alongside the clothing, the brand showcased its UGG collaboration which re imagines the footwear brand’s aesthetic into an extra long stiletto and uber-long over the knees styles, of course.

Glen Martens isn’t averse to utilizing the fabrics that define today—denim, nylon, cotton sweatshirting. But he’s also not afraid to give in to his bigger, bolder impulses. Y/Project is streetwear, in the very best sense of the term, though in Martens’s hands, you might be looking at the street of 1818 as much as 2018.

Unlike many of the labels that have sprung up in the last year riffing on urban “cool,” we’re not just talking about making things sporty and uber-sized here. There’s real imagination and concept at work.

The F/W 2018 collection is a testament to ambitious thinking, having fun, and hard work. (He does it all, he said, with a team of just five people.) And the perfect reminder why we’re always looking!”
