As I was writing my post about the special Chimala limited edition this past week, it became once more very clear to me that yes, sometimes you need to really invest in a pair of jeans, invest as in spending for quality and long-live.
Sure, we can find great jeans for less, but then again, as in handbags, belt, shoes, or especially jewelry, sometimes it is important for us to have something really outstanding and yes, pay the price.
Here is why I have always thought of Chimala jeans as special and worth every penny:
Fist off, they do not mass-produce their jeans, but rather limit their collections to a few and outstanding pieces.
Second, they believe in classic styles adapted to our modern everyday live. Meaning, they are not too concerned about what fashion demands and dictates, but rather create their own fashion.
And third, according to their designer, Noriko Machada: ” We use only authentic selvedge denim, which is rare especially for a women’s brand.”
This said, the Chimala Blue Wide Tapered Selvedge Denim Jeans combines both the classic style of a slouchier and wider cut with the modern cropped and tapered leg, not to mention the button fly which is a must-have for most of the vintage denim lovers. The jeans are in a clean darker wash with no distressing and are made of 100% cotton selvedge denim.
Now, from my own experience with the Chimala jeans I want to point out a very important fact: the more you wear them, the more the jeans change to adapt to your body AND to your personality. With time, they start to fade in just the right places for your own body. And they will also become softer but without losing the original shape.
