This week we’re all about slouchy, wide leg, and comfy! So the MM6 Maison Margiela Drawstring Wide Leg Jeans is the perfect example of doing jeans the comfortable AND edgy way without having to resort to any athleisurewear or – heavens noway – sweatjeans!
Also, shown here are a couple of different styles of how to wear these jeans. Sure, the obvious way would be with a tight or fitted top tucked into the waistband. But, as you know, we @Denimology are never obvious and never predictable! 😉
We love the idea of wearing these babies super slouchy, dragging on the floor, and paired with something really oversized!
But, of course, these drawstring jeans can also be worn with high heels or platforms, and with a skimpy tank top as well. But because of the oversized and unusual style and the paint and dirt splattered wash, we believe that it just makes sense go all the way “over-the-box”.
“The Line 6 collection from Martin Margiela is a platform to experiment with different denim treatments. This season’s MM6 Maison Margiela collection was mindful of that, producing iterations of the maison’s washes with styles like these oversized jeans. Authentically characterized with mud, paint splats, whiskering and fading, which the brand refers to as “dirty wash spots”, the high-rise waist is bundled by drawstring ties.”
Made of a mid-weight 16oz 100% cotton Italian denim, these jeans will fall nicely and won’t feel stiff at all.
