Memorial Day weekend is synonymous with the beginning of summer, not really by the calendar, but for us in the USA it signifies the unofficial start of summer.
And this means of course, lots of white denim again.
I have been on the lookout for some white jeans that are neither: skinny, ripped, or regular oh-so-last-ten years, boyfriend style, or wide leg…difficult, I can tell you that!
But then I remembered that every time I travel to Europe, I visit my favorite denim store there – CLOSED. Their denims have been around since for-ever. Actually, my first pair of designer jeans was a pair of CLOSED, their pedal pusher, which they are calling Power Pusher now. This style has been and still is the CLOSED trademark style.
But what I really appreciate with this brand is that for every season they also create a capsule collection of definitely not your regular kind of denim.
This season it’s all about the CLOSED x François Girbaud collaboration. As a piece from the capsule collection Closed collaborated with legend François Girbaud, who founded Closed in 1978. These rugged Closed x F. Girbaud White Denim X-Pocket Jeans reinterpret timeless jeans for the contemporary wardrobe.
The X-pocket jeans are made of strong Spanish white denim (12 oz.) with distinct twill structure. They feature wedge-shaped inserts at the inside of the legs, fringed step hems with different lengths and buttonholes at ending. The style is a high rise.
It’s a perfect pair of jeans made for those of us who are looking for something different and outside of the box.
These jeans also come in a beautiful medium blue wash, which is a great option if you’re not into whites, see last image below.
On my last trip to Europe I had tried them on, and they run a bit big, which is actually super cool if you are on the tall side. But, as I am rather on the shorter side (5’4″), I preferred to downsize from my regular 28 to a 27. The jeans still fit as they were supposed to fit.
