retro denim styles

Many of us denim lovers have been going back to our roots in the last few years. Vintage inspired, retro-style denim for us is what it’s all about and we can’t get enough of refurbished and renewed jeans.

But, unfortunately, it’s not always one of the cheapest options around. Actually, you might end up paying over $300 for a pair of re-constructed vintage jeans.

This is why we love that Wrangler, has included their famous icon, the Heritage Jean, in their collection again. The style is definitely retro, kind of almost bootcut straight leg, higher waist, and made of non-stretch heavy weight rigid denim. The only modern touch is the pre-fabricated shredding on one leg – something you had to work hard for decades ago. Remember, these jeans used to come in that raw indigo wash, totally stiff, and you actually had to wear them for years to get this washed out vintage look including the distressing.

Modern times do have the advantage of “instant” gratification, right!

IMPORTANT: About the sizing: Being that Wrangler has kept the exact original style of these jeans – they were actually men’s -and that they are made of very sturdy rigid denim you need to go up three sizes when buying them. But now worries, once you got the right size, the jeans fit exactly how they should fit: not too skinny, and not too baggy, just perfectly in-between, exactly how jeans used to be worn in “dinosaur” time LOL!

You can shop for Wrangler jeans on their website, at Yoox, and at ASOS.
