The other day I had to go to a social – more dressy – kind of event and needed a pair of CLEAN DARK BLACK skinny jeans to comprise my outfit. And guess what – in all of my denim closet there wasn’t even ONE SINGLE PAIR of clean wash pure black jeans.

Which is outrageous, isn’t it? I mean I have been a denim editor for years and years, and believe me if I tell you that 80% of my closet is denim.

So what happened was that I checked out all of my black skinny jeans and to my dismay, every pair had something: either rips, or the black was faded, or the rise too low (from some 3, 4 years ago’s fashion fad of low-rises)…you get the picture, right!

Enter Canadian brand, Triarchy. When I saw their skinny black hi-rise on the site, this was it. There was no cropped or frayed hem, the length was “normal” (31′ inseam), the higher rise an absolute must-have. And the wash and absolute dark black, not faded at all.

Not to mention that the price of $185 is totally reasonable for a pair of jeans that I will be wearing over and over again.

“Legs for days and just enough stretch to make you forget you’re wearing denim. High-rise. Four way stretch. Fitted from hip to angle.”

And an added plus for me is also the fact that all of their denim is sustainable. There is absolute no question – these jeans are going to be my LBD in denim: SBJ {Skinny  Black Jeans}.
