As Denimology prides itself on being totally aware and supportive of anything sustainable, we love the fact that more and more denim brands are jumping on the sustainability bandwagon.
Canadian brand, Triarchy, actually went one step further. They shut down all their production and took a hiatus for over a year in order to re-formulate their brand and become absolutely and unconditional sustainable.
Their slogan #howmuchwaterareyouwearing says it all.
Triarchy just launched their most sustainable jean ever, the Momma jean:
“This is the most sustainable jean we’ve ever made.
These jeans are the one and only. Vintage throwback cut and wash with superior organic cotton fabrication and state of the art wash. We washed these in a state of the art laundry facility that uses 98% less water than traditional denim laundries. The 2% of water we did use to wash these is recycled back at 100% usability. Like we said, state of the art.”
And here is more:
The denim fabric is 81% Organic Cotton, 11% Re-Cycled Poly, 7% Pre consumer recycled cotton, 1% Lycra, and does not bag out.
Made in Los Angeles, in a facility that uses 98% less water than traditional denim laundries.
All buttons and rivets are made from recycled metals. The Leather label is made from recycled leather. The woven labels are made from recycled water bottles.
This said, not only are the Momma jeans environmental friendly, but the wash is also super exciting with the shadow effect tuxedo stripe and the different depths of the indigo blue. Totally natural looking, and without that artificial fading and whiskering all of us are so done with.
A great looking pair of jeans with a “good cause” – well done, Triarchy!
