baggy jeans

And because this past week New York experienced its first real winter-snow-freezing weather, Gigi Hadid is our best inspo: how to wear your summer denim in freezing cold weather.

She was photographed while out in Sydney, Australia, greeting and posing with her fans in front of her Hotel. And she wore her ripped and distressed jeans layered over black leggings, transforming them into cold-weather wearables!

Yeah, we have know about this “trick” for ages, I agree, but somehow it never looked so good when layering skinny jeans, or even skinnier fitting jeans. And it was never one of our most comfortable outfits either.

The secret is to opt for a pair of really baggy and/or loose fitting jeans. Your best options are the rigid vintage jeans, or any real borrowed-from-the-guys denims that have a baggy fit. The jeans should really be 100% cotton, the reason being that when there is Elastane or any other kind of stretch component involved, the jeans will stick to the leggings and that is not only uncomfortable but also ruins the look.

You can buy similar baggy distressed jeans from RE/DONE – on sale at SAKS for $156!, H&M, and SLINK Jeans for the curvy chicks.
