Since AGOLDE has shown up to our radar a few years ago we have been watching the rise of the brand with quite some interest. What made this brand so special for us was the fact that ever since they launched, they were always focused on authentic and vintage-like denim looks, and – for a very reasonable price, being that we are talking a about premium denim here:
“AGOLDE is a premium denim label dedicated to highlighting youth culture throughout the decades. Instead of simply replicating your favorite styles from the past, we set out to recreate them with a contemporary approach in mind. Our styles may emit an irreverent attitude, but we’re serious when it comes to quality. We use only the most innovative fabrics sourced from around the world and facilitate all product development directly out of Los Angeles to create denim of the highest caliber.”
Designed out of Downtown Los Angeles, AGOLDE continues to push the boundaries of design and fabrication by taking classic 80’s fashion styles, and modernizing fit and wash. Taking inspiration from fashion icons such as the edgy street photographic work of Tom Wood, the Spring 2019 collection is designed for those bold enough to try edgier fits and vibrant washes.
New fashion shapes give this decade’s style a modern aesthetic with the introduction of the Parker Straight Jean mocked after our most popular short; it is worn as a true relaxed cigarette.
For short offerings, the Micah Short is introduced with a more relaxed fit, longer inseam and flattering curve on the front rise.
Interesting details are incorporated into the denim assortment including subtle pleating and double needle piecing details, along with exaggerated balloon sleeves on lightweight fleece and denim jumpsuit.
In washes this season, AGOLDE celebrates the colorful spirit of the 80’s era. Although the brand is known for its impeccably authentic vintage-inspired distressing, the line has evolved with more clean finishes in powdery vintage pales, while still incorporating subtle acid wash and vibrant pigments. Strong colors in denim are stonewashed to give them a marbled finish, paired back to clean bright tops to create full bold, technicolor looks.
For contemporary monochromatic outfits, the Riley Straight Crop in Lemon styles nicely alongside the Balloon Cropped Sweatshirt in Citrus as well as the Jamie Classic Straight and Baby Tee in Orange Soda both blending seamlessly.
The Spring Women’s collection will be available for purchase from December 2018 – February 2019.
