So it really looks like for 2019 most denim brands have declared the 90’s loose fitting straight leg jeans to be the featured denim style of this year, and we couldn’t agree more!
Check out here how California based brand, Goldsign interprets their version of the 90’s : It’s suave, pastel, and, yes, peaceful! Somehow calming us down after all the stark, over-distressed, and over-rigid denims this winter.
“GOLDSIGN’s collections are inspired by 90’s minimalism and nothing captures that decade quite like simple denim. Leading into Spring 2019, tailoring references run throughout the collection, with an emphasis on the exaggerated shoulder and neat waist, working back to ultra wide and voluminous 5-pocket and trouser silhouettes. Crafted entirely in Los Angeles, the collection offers versatile pieces that are easily absorbed into a modern woman’s wardrobe.
This Spring, each of the signature fits and fashion silhouettes continue to be crafted in clean, non-distressed denim to maintain the modern aesthetic. Understated and refined wash techniques are represented in a range of extracted indigos mixed with pale greys and ginger, while the line continues to showcase the label’s signature construction elements such as the intricate ghost back pockets, tonal hardware, and contrast threading.
Newness in fit includes the Curved Jean, a fashion silhouette which adds volume with a curved outseam and pinched, high waist. Wider silhouettes are also a focus for GOLDSIGN. The Overfit, a high rise trouser fit with a dramatic, structural wide leg cut in a soft white and blonde wash, is the perfect example of this focus. The Trouser, which received much praise previously when crafted in a deep indigo, is now offered in a clean white denim with contrast thread. A fashion basic originally introduced in full-length silhouette, the A Jean is now available both in a cropped and full-length version with some added stretch for comfort.”
