black cigarette jeans

Who doesn’t absolutely need another pair of black jeans. And how about a perfect “excuse” to shop for a new pair? Easy done.

J Brand came up with a super stylish, edgy, and actually very attention calling, pair of hi-rise cigarette jeans. They are the Ruby High-Rise Cropped Cigarette Jean.

Okay, I hear you – what, cropped again, after all this talk about going back to longer inseams this fall?!?

Well here’s the thing. Even with the all longer inseam trend happening, there is always a good reason to go for a cropped pair every now and then. And the best reason to do so: A highly stylish, extremely well fitting, and also extremely comfortable pair of jeans that let you show off your new fall booties. Or, like right now while it’s still summer, your very best beloved sneakers.

These J Brand bad boys are so totally not your run-of-the-mill cropped jeans. First off, the cropped inseam features a hi-low asymmetrical hem with black fringes that are not your regular frayed hems, but actually deep black (like the jeans themselves) fringes. There is nothing distressed about them in the sense of faded.

The fit is not tapered like a skinny jean, but rather a skinny straight leg – therefore the’re called cigarette jeans. Depending on how tall you are, the jeans may hit you just above the ankle (for shorties like me (5’4″), or higher up (26″ inseam). Both ways work very well, depending on the kind of shoes you wear them with.

The Ruby jeans are made of 98% cotton and 2% elastane, which, being a total denim head, is the the best (and only) option for me to have some comfort. Because I mostly do rigid denim. They look and feel like real denim, but the tiny amount of stretch makes them very comfortable. And you won’t believe how soft they feel.

Convinced now, that you absolutely need a new black jean 😉

And if you’re not sure about these black babies, J Brand has you covered. Check out the many other black jeans available in their f/w 2019 collection here.
