Well, guys, this time it’s not about jeans, or shopping, or anything like it.
This time we want to share a plea for help from one of our denim icons, Scott Morrison, founder and creator of beloved New York denim brand, 3×1.
“As most of you know, our youngest son Leo, was diagnosed with having Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome (BRS) two years ago, last month. BRS a ultra-rare genetic disease impacting a very small number of children in the world. BRS is a spectrum disorder with a range of symptoms, and no two children’s symptoms are exactly alike, but many will never speak or walk, and most suffer from severe developmental delays, cognitive and feeding issues, and have seizures. As horrible as this is, it’s only made worse by the fact that BRS was discovered just 7 years ago, and with it, an infinite number of questions remaining to be answered and the unimaginable worry of what’s around the corner for our children.
In June 2018, we launched Leo’s Lighthouse Foundation (www.leoslighthouse.org), a 501c3 not-for-profit to raise awareness and desperately needed resources for BRS research. 18 months later, there is still just a handful of research being done on BRS, but I’m proud to say that in large part thanks to the efforts of last year’s Leo’s Lighthouse NYC Benefit, as well as the Leo’s Lighthouse Golf Tournament in Seattle, Washington, we’ve funded BRS research at the University of Michigan, the University of Washington, and NYC’s own, Columbia University. There are 7,000 known rare diseases in the world with most research being funded privately through foundations like ours – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
On Thursday, November 21, 2019 we’ll be having the 2nd Annual Leo’s Lighthouse Foundation Benefit at the Jane Hotel Ballroom, hosted by an incredible group of friends and loved ones, and thanks to the generous contribution of the Jane Hotel and an assortment of sponsors, the proceeds will go to funding much needed research on Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome. The event is from 6pm – 9pm with complimentary food and open-bar, as well as an auction and a very special performance. Tickets are available for purchase HERE are tax-deductible. I would love to see you there of course, and we’re hoping to make this a night to remember.
Thank you for the help and for considering us! 🙂“

I have met Scott’s family, Graciela is from Brazil, beautiful and sweet, and both of their kids are adorable – check out the images below:-)
All of us here, @Denimology, were deeply moved by Scott’s sad story and we’re calling out to all of you out there to help any way you can think of.
If you need further information, please do not hesitate to leave a comment below this post, or you can also e-mail us at: [email protected] We will then forward your inquiry to Scott.
Let’s get together and help one of our very own. It’s the least we can do.
