The thing is that I am really becoming tired and fed up of wearing sweatpants and leggings. It’s been only about one month or so, but it already feels like I have been living in those for a lifetime.
Change of scenery is not advisable right now, but I am definitely in for a change of looks, even if it’s only between me and my mirror.
Enter the dad jeans. It so happened that I had a pair hanging in my closet but had totally forgotten about them. Like thinking only about sweatpants and leggings, right.
If you’re confused about what’s really the difference between the mom and the dad jean, it’s very simple. The mom jean has tapered legs and is only ankle length, while the dad jean is a wider straight leg and can either be full inseam or also ankle length.
My dad jeans are from Madewell and really well loved – I got them more than a year ago (see image below). They used to be my alternative go-to jeans when I wanted comfort with an edgy look or when traveling. Alternative because usually I prefer boyfriend jeans worn cuffed at the ankles. The dad jeans, on the other hand, are supposed to be worn full length down, and therefore giving me a similar comfort but with a different look.
And today is the third day that I am wearing my dad jeans and I don’t think I will go back to my sweats anytime soon again.
It’s because wearing jeans makes me feel less like being at a pajama party (which is definitely not happening), and more like being dressed with “everyday” life happening.
But I am not a person that can wear the same jeans over and over again – my one big problem when trying to wear in a pair of raw denim jeans. I need to get more dad jeans like right now… and here are a few options I found online, still deciding which one is “me”….
