Most of you readers out there in Europe are of course familiar with German based brand, CLOSED. They have been around since 1978 and have definitely become an icon brand over the years. Starting off as a denim line, nowadays they are a lifestyle brand, including items like sweaters, coats, shoes and much more in their collections.

And it’s also a brand that is becoming more and more environmentally conscious and sustainable:

“We are currently doing everything we can to become even more sustainable without neglecting our high quality standards. Sustainability has always been important to us – long before it became a buzzword and trend.

We are not an Eco label. (And we feel that it’s impossible for a clothing company with quarterly collections to be 100 per cent sustainable.) That doesn’t stop us from continuously finding new ways to improve – because, of course, we care about our planet. Always have, always will. We’re continuously making our processes as sustainable as possible. Step by step, we’re taking Closed towards a greener future.”

One of my first jeans ever that I remember were a pair of CLOSED Pedal Pusher jeans. And, believe it or not, the pedal pusher jeans are still an essential part in every season’s CLOSED collection. And now they have also become part of their “A Better Blue” collection which is all about sustainable denim.

The Pedal Pusher jeans come in mid- and high rises, cropped and tapered, as well as with longer inseams. Definitely a pair of jeans to add to our denim staples.

You can shop for CLOSED jeans on their website, at Anthropologie, at farfetch, and at Yoox.
