As we’ve mentioned before. It’s always very interesting and useful to find out beforehand what will be trending when you are about to buy new jeans – and everything else, of course!
When it comes to the men’s denim styles, we’re seeing over- and uber-sized as well as super long jeans. Lots of detailing and patchwork.
We are all aware of the fact that most of the clothing shown on runway shows are generally exaggerated in styling and not really applicable in “real” life. This is why we love the video from Y/Project. Confirming this is Glenn Martens, Y/Project’s creative director: “Obviously, these looks are distorted, and that is part of the fun of the brand. But most of them you can wear calmed down. Have you seen the video?”
Greg Lauren continues with their up-cycling and eco-friendly collections with a new project – GL Scraps. His team repurposes all of their leftover fabric bits and pieces like off-cuts of vintage denim, linen, wool, or even fragments of the tents Lauren transforms into parkas.
Dsquared2’s Dean and Dan Caten rediscovered one of their core signatures, tailoring, updated with a punk twist. Playing with proportions and volumes – sometimes oversized, sometimes shrunken – they offered a concise wardrobe for confident and slightly rebellious boys and girls.
Stay tuned for more previews coming up @Denimology – all about denim everything!
