If you love the 70’s. If you love heavy-weight denim. If you love 100% cotton jeans made of American produced selvedge denim. Then the Wrangler Selvedge Fly High Flare Jeans in Authentic Wash are you, for you, made for you!
A limited edition style that is definitely worth going for if you are looking for authenticity and a true denim look and feel:
“Rich, selvedge denim meets an iconic ‘70s silhouette. The jeans feature a comfortable and figure-flattering rise that sits at your natural waistline. At the knee, the jeans kick out to a funky, flared leg opening designed to create the illusion of mile-long legs. The fly high flare is expertly tailored using rich, selvedge Cone® White Oak denim woven on vintage shuttle looms. Selvedge detailing on the edge of the floating watch pocket and the interior fly adds a vintage feel while beautiful hand-stitching above the back pockets, at the waistline, and on the fly gives the style a casual, DIY vibe. The result is a carefully crafted, limited-edition silhouette that will make every outfit stand out.”
Wrangler sent me a pair for review, and much as I normally prefer an oversized and baggy denim style, I totally fell for these. The look and feel is true denim – as I mentioned above – the best classic denim feel. The rise is not too high and really sits exactly at the waist as described on the Wrangler website.
The flare is huge, super cool, and eye-catching. The jeans come with a 32 and 34 inch inseam, but I am missing the 30 inches. Sadly, for my 5’4″ even the 32 inseam was too long and I had to cut them off. I actually loved the finished semi destructed hem of the jeans, but you can’t always get what you want, sigh.
The jeans run absolutely true to size. I am a size 28 in jeans with stretch. But when it comes to 100% cotton denim, I always go for the size 29 and these fit to perfection.
These jeans are sold out everywhere but are still available on the Wrangler website. Limited edition – so run for it!
And, wait, if you are not really a flare jeans girl, they do have the same jeans with the same feel and touch, 100% cotton (but not selvedge), in a straight leg – The Wild West High Rise Straight Jeans, as well as in a wide leg – The Worldwide Wide Leg Long Jeans.
