Adidas is leaning hard into denim for Fall 2026, and the important part is that it isn’t just conventional jeans. Denim is being fused with adidas’s trackwear heritage.

The Firebird Adicolor Denim Jeans are a mid-rise, straight-leg jean with the familiar Firebird/Three Stripes sportswear language. adidas currently offers them in multiple washes.

Denim track jackets
A good way to pair your jeans: classic Firebird and SST track-top shapes are reconstructed in denim, including cropped and oversized women’s versions.

Straight-leg jeans
For Fall 2026, adidas is reinforcing the straight jean rather than pushing only super-baggy silhouettes. The men’s collection currently includes both SST and Firebird mid-rise straight-leg jeans.

Wide / barrel / low-rise
The women’s denim range broadens considerably: high-rise wide-leg, barrel-leg, mid-rise wide-leg, and low-rise flared styles are all represented.

The adidas denim collection fits perfectly with the broader Fall 2026 move away from one dominant baggy silhouette. Straight jeans, vintage washes and sporty denim are gaining ground while wide and baggy remain important.

And Adidas is also explicitly offering vintage/worn-in washes, dark blue, black and grey denim, reinforcing the broader Fall 2026 interest in vintage denim and darker washes.

Balenciaga’s Spring 2027 collection is definitely interesting. Because it isn’t simply a return to the oversized Demna-era look. Piccioli is taking ordinary jeans and leather jackets and giving them couture-level construction and proportion. The result is a more sophisticated version of the classic jeans + leather jacket formula.

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first Spring 2027 collection at Balenciaga brings couture construction into everyday wardrobe staples, specifically including jeans and leather jackets.

And yes, ripped and distressed jeans are definitely present!

Denim is low-slung, relaxed jeans rather than skinny. Heavily distressed/ripped denim with a lived-in, worn character. Long, dragging hems in some looks. Blue denim is treated as an everyday wardrobe foundation rather than a decorative fashion fabric. Jeans are even worn under evening gowns, deliberately collapsing the boundary between casual and couture.

The Leather story is softer than the old Balenciaga biker aesthetic:

Leather is treated as part of the everyday wardrobe alongside denim, bombers, T-shirts and tailoring.

Brown leather jackets with cinched waists and sculptural/ruffled peplum proportions. Washed leathers that soften the surface and silhouette. And also lightweight nappa leather is used to reshape Balenciaga’s familiar Rodeo and Le City bag forms.

Ann Demeulemeester Resort 2027, designed by Stefano Gallici, is an important collection for denim because it moves the brand toward a cleaner, slimmer, more sharply tailored silhouette while retaining its romantic rock aesthetic.

The collection blends 2000s rock-chick bohemia, early-20th-century eveningwear, James Dean references, and small-town Americana, which is why the denim feels vintage rather than streetwear-driven.

And – we love! Demeulemeester is so definitely not giving up on distressed jeans!

Bottom line: Ann Demeulemeester Resort 2027 is a strong reference for faded vintage jeans, slimmer straight and bootcut proportions, and tailoring. This also suggests that Fall/Winter 2026/2027 denim is becoming much more diverse than simply oversized and baggy.

Prada Spring/Summer 2027 menswear is one of the clearest high-fashion signals for the return of skinny jeans in men’s fashion. Created by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, this collection deliberately reduced the silhouette to a tight, controlled, linear shape, including very slim five-pocket jeans.

But the important thing is that these aren’t simply a revival of the old 2000s spray-on stretch jeans.

Prada is essentially proposing a new skinny with silhouettes very slim through the thigh and calf. Low-rise waist with cropped or ankle-length hems. Clean, minimal five-pocket construction.

OLD SKINNY: spray-on + stretchy + rock-band/Y2K casual
PRADA S/S27: low-rise + precise + cropped + luxurious + architectural

Bottom line: Prada S/S27 is a genuine “skinny jeans are back” runway moment for menswear. But the bigger story is the return of slim, body-conscious men’s denim. But it’s definitely not a universal replacement of baggy jeans.

Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Poisonous Plants,” is a particularly interesting denim collection.

The collection was shown during Fashion Week in Paris and centers on a collaboration with Belgian artist Michaël Borremans.

Featured is a Type II denim jacket in heavy woven fabric, distinguished by irregular and wavy seams. It takes the classic trucker construction and reforms it into something new and exciting.

Some of the looks were about loose, easy-fitting jeans, worn with relatively simple tops.

Borremans’s imagery appears across the collection, and details like topstitching around the jeans’ back pockets turn ordinary workwear construction into part of an artistic composition.

Summing it up, the notable UNDERCOVER contribution is heritage denim construction being “distorted” through artistically placed seams and surface treatments. Definitely a more Japanese avant-garde take on the continuing workwear-denim trend.

PURPLE has launched its Fall/Winter 2026 campaign, “The Classmates”. This is the follow-up to its Spring/Summer 2026 campaign, “The Neighbors.”

The campaign was photographed by Kaito and styled by Terrence Munn. The location of this shot is Saint Violet Academy, a fictional school built around the idea of what “cool kids” wear.

Every school has its characters. FallWinter 2026 brings them together through a collection of denim, tees, flannels, outerwear, matching sets, and fall essentials. And each category is interpreted through a different point of view.

Cinq à Sept’s Spring 2027 collection has a clear denim story: relaxed, slightly slouchy jeans with a polished, feminine New York styling.

The fits include relaxed straight/cropped denim in a medium blue wash. This style features a loose, easy leg with an interesting horizontal partly opened seam around the knee.

Also included are a pair of high-waisted wide-leg jeans. They have a slightly structured, almost trouser-like shape rather than a baggy silhouette. The front seam which is running along the full length of the jeans give your legs a slimmer look.

The interesting part is that Cinq à Sept isn’t treating relaxed denim as purely casual. The jeans are being dressed up with bouclé jackets, delicate blouses and polished accessories.

Summing it up. Cinq à Sept fits the emerging “polished relaxed jean” direction: the leg gets roomier, but the overall look remains feminine and refined.

Gucci’s Fall 2026 collection, Demna’s first major Gucci runway collection, makes a strong case for clean, sexy, fitted-to-straight denim rather than the ultra-baggy look.

Key denim looks:

1. Straight, clean jeans
The clearest men’s denim look is a light-wash, straight-leg jean with a relatively clean finish, worn with a tight black tee and Gucci belt.

2. Sexy, fitted denim
Another standout is a deep blue, coated jean worn with a skin-tight black polo. It gives denim a much more body-conscious, sensual attitude.

3. Low-key rather than heavily distressed
Gucci isn’t pushing shredded or aggressively vintage denim here. The denim is relatively clean and polished, allowing the silhouette and styling to provide the attitude.

4. Light blue is important
The pale/light-blue jean is particularly notable because it contrasts with Fall 2026’s strong dark-indigo trend elsewhere. Gucci shows that light denim isn’t disappearing for fall. It’s being made sharper and more sophisticated.

London-based designer Aaron Esh released his debut Fall/Winter 2026 collection as the new Creative Officer of AllSaints, marking a major conceptual reboot for the brand.

The Vision: Esh aims to reassert rather than completely reconstruct the brand, blending his signature Savile Row tailoring with AllSaints’ classic rock ‘n’ roll and 2000s indie sleaze DNA.

The Collection: Is actually ‘very AllSaints’ with a focus on dark tones for leather and denim with lighter touches using sheers. And, definitely, trend-meets-classic tailored outerwear. But there are new weights and finishes, and new colors with suede used more prominently in a wider range of tones.

The Campaign: Shot by Alasdair McLellan, the black-and-white portraits feature 17 diverse London creatives, street-cast locals, and muses.

Esh is revisiting the AllSaints archive through refitted and rebuilt vintage pieces, including denim, biker jackets and leather, rather than simply reproducing the brand’s old 2000s aesthetic.
