After having watched endless previews of Resort and Spring 2027 there’s a total juxtaposition keeping us on high alert.

It seems like the “industry” is desperately trying to push the comeback of the skinny jeans. Skinny and slim-cut denim are making their strongest comeback since the late 2010s, led by designers rather than mass retail.

Because in reality, in “real” life, we are seeing baggy, anti-fit jeans, for both him and her.

Streetlooks may include one or the other – skinn-ier or slimmer – pair of jeans, but the general vibe out there is definitely still oversized and relaxed.

The answer is not a simple “skinny is back” or “baggy is dead.” Which is actually a good thing. It gives us all the freedom to decide what we’re wearing withou being declared unfashionable.

Let us point out the main difference between back then and now.

Today we’re not talking about the ultra-stretch, spray-on skinnies of 2010. The new versions tend to be cleaner, more tailored, and tending toward more rigid denim rather than stretch.

One of the clearest conclusions of the early 2027 previews is that straight-leg and slim-straight jeans dominate. Very few major collections featured extremely baggy denim. But then again, it’s not what we see out there on the streets – yet.

The New “Middle Ground”:

Perhaps the biggest story is the rise of the slim-straight or “baggy skinny” silhouette:

• fitted through the hips
• relaxed—not oversized—through the leg
• full length
• rigid denim

This as the bridge between the baggy era and the skinny revival.

Bottom Line:

The strongest message from Resort and Spring 2027 is refinement rather than reversal.

The industry is not abandoning baggy jeans overnight, but the era of oversized denim dominating every collection is fading. If there is one silhouette that best captures the moment, it isn’t the 2010 skinny or the 2023 puddle jean – it’s the modern slim-straight jean, which is emerging as the defining denim shape for 2027.

Calvin Klein just launched “Jung Kook for Calvin Klein,” a limited-edition capsule collection created with the brand’s global ambassador and pop superstar.

And this is not the first time CK and Kook are working together – their collaboration actually dates back to 2023 when they collaborated on their first ad campaign. But this is their first fashion collaboration, which is built on the ambassadorship between the artist and the brand.

The capsule reinterprets the company’s signature essentials through Jung Kook’s personal style, combining established design language with what the brand describes as his rebellious aesthetic.

The men’s and women’s 20-style capsule draws on biker influences and Calvin Klein’s established design codes, with a focus on underwear and denim foundations.

Key silhouettes include a 90s trucker jacket, 90s straight fits, and low-rise baggy jeans, alongside graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts, and a racer jacket. Distressed denim details and racing stripe accents reinforce a worn-in aesthetic across the collection.

Calvin Klein’s Spring 2026 campaign starring Dakota Johnson is one of the most talked-about fashion campaigns of the year. It marks Johnson’s first campaign for the brand and continues Calvin Klein’s tradition of minimalist, sensual denim and underwear advertising.

The visuals focus on “less is more” sensuality. Simple settings, minimal styling with emphasis on the body and clothing.

The sexy photos, directed and photographed by Gordon von Steiner, show Johnson posing poolside in a black bra with a book in her lap and on a black piano in denim with no top. Others are of Johnson on top of a pool table wearing only underwear and her wearing an oversize denim jacket with nothing underneath, among others. 

The campaign highlights the shift toward relaxed and vintage denim fits in 2026. Baggy jeans, straight silhouettes, and classic trucker jackets rather than extreme skinny styles.

According to the brand’s press release,  the campaign offers a fresh interpretation of the brand’s signature confidence and sensuality, grounded in a refined less is more philosophy. The photos show the actress through a relaxing day at home, away from the spotlight.

Johnson gave her own insight into the campaign’s narrative in a statement, saying, “Calvin Klein jeans and underwear have a timeless quality that makes everything feel right the moment you put them on. When a woman is alone at home working or reading or doing whatever, it can feel quite liberating and sensual.”

Mingyu, member of SEVENTEEN and long-time Calvin Klein collaborator, headlines the Fall 2025 denim campaign, marking his third major collaboration with the brand.

Photographed by Torso, the campaign leverages studio-set imagery – polished, minimal, and intentional – allowing Mingyu’s effortless charm to drive the story. Balancing between nostalgia and modern, the campaign is rooted in vintage 90s styles refreshed with bold monogram detailing and clean visuals.

The capsule collection, comprised of 20 pieces, leans into Calvin Klein’s signature ‘90s aesthetic. Featured are wardrobe staples like straight-leg jeans (available in new vintage and dark indigo washes), classic tanks and underwear, T-shirts, a retro-inspired trucker jacket, and sweatshirts.

And judging by the campaign video and images, the waistband is at the center of the season. Pulled above denim and set beneath shirting or tanks, it acts as disclosure. It’s part base layer, part message. Calvin Klein has used this signal since the Marky Mark years, but the campaign sharpens it into a recurring beat.

Calvin Klein and Jeremy Allen White have once again teamed up. And this time it’s for the Ck Fall/Winter 2024 ad campaign.

This is by no means a new collaboration. White, acclaimed for his role in “The Bear,” has been featured in Calvin Klein’s advertising campaigns throughout 2024. In January, he debuted in the brand’s Spring 2024 men’s underwear collection.

The Fall/Winter 2024 campaign, shot by photographer Mert Alas, showcases White in a variety of denim and underwear, emphasizing a minimalist aesthetic. The visuals highlighted his toned physique and included settings like poolside lounging and urban backdrops, aligning with the brand’s classic yet contemporary image.

The rapper, a member of supergroup, Seventeen, is the star of a new Fall 2024 Calvin Klein campaign. The iconic brand released the imagery Friday, flooding social media with photos and videos of Mingyu decked out in Calvin Klein’s latest denim drops.

The campaign spotlights the K-pop superstar’s distinctive style. Mingyu’s “personality comes into focus against soft blue and orange backdrops, with gradient vibrant colors and shadows complementing his body language.

Photographed by Park Jong Ha, the campaign highlights Mingyu in a range of new denim styles, including different cuts and washes, paired with classic logo tees and sleek outerwear.
