Talking about top trending colors and styles here is what we love to do whenever possible. And today we’re all about the color red. After the universal Barbie pink trend it’s going to be a very welcome change for all of us. And why not do this right now – set the (fashion) tone!

Let’s have a look at some of the pre-fall 2024 pieces – shown on the runways as well as in previews.

Personally, I’ve always loved the color red – especially for jeans. I do remember one of my first red jeans ever were the men’s Levi’s 501. And they’re still available right now here and here.

Red jeans are a good option for a way out of our eternal blues and blacks. There are endless ways how to pair them and they’re also easy to dress up or down. It all depends only on what you pair them with. Heels or sneakers, sweatshirt or blazer.

Another thing is that the color red also makes you stand out in a crowd without being too eye-catching.

Scroll down to see our team’s six top choices available to purchase right now.

Marques’ Almeida High-Rise Boyfriend Jeans ($340)

Veronica Beard Taylor Cropped Wide-Leg Jeans ($268)

Reformation Val Belted Mid-Rise Straight Jeans ($168)

ROLLA’S Heidi Trade in Brick ($91)

CLOSED Hi-Sun High-Rise Crop Flare Jeans ($295)

Cinq A Sept Loren Cropped Jeans ($265)

Is it just us? Or do you think that as well when checking out the Dsquared2 pre-fall 2024 men’s looks? Did the designer twins, Dean and Dan Caten, really “calm down”?

As opposed to what we have come to expect from Dsquared2, the pre-fall denim styles and washes do seem quite laid back. Continuing the same vintage dark distressed denim washes in almost all of the jeans and denim jackets. With the exception of a patchwork and a logo glitter embellished pair of jeans – see below.

The collection is a sartorial ode to the great outdoors fused with a distinct Canadian spirit. Outdoorsy, minus some scratches and drops of blood. Kind of where street savvy meets wilderness chic, creating a rugged and refined look. The collection is a play of contrasts: think lumberjack meets luxury.

Bold plaid patterns pay homage to Dsquared2’s Canadian roots, harking back to the country’s iconic flannel shirts, reimagined with a contemporary twist. These pieces are storytellers of the Catens’ heritage, narrated through modern tailoring.

Yep, refined lumberjack and rather clean and not too much destructed denim, if this is your thing, then there is a lot here for you to love! This pre-fall 2024 collection will only be available to shop for in a few weeks. But meantime you can purchase Dsquared2 clothing at YOOX, Cettire, and at Neiman Marcus.

Before going into more details about the R13’s pre-fall 2024 collection, I’d like to point out something that really – mildly put -shocked us into a new reality. AI generated fashion shows?! How very very daring, Chris Leba, and how very right now! Yeah – we all should know by now that this is the way the fashion world is going… AI generated everything. Scarry, yes, but also unavoidable.

Chris Leba, the creative force behind R13, takes us on a rebellious journey back to the brand’s core DNA in the Pre-Fall 2024 collection.

Leba’s latest creations showcase the brand’s signature aesthetic, blending the past, present, and future. The collection not only pays homage to R13’s roots but also challenges traditional fashion norms through innovative designs and a rebellious spirit. The lookbook itself features a juxtaposition of in-real-life ready-to-wear against an AI-generated runway show and backstage scene, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries.

True to R13’s ethos of subversive modernization, the collection takes classic heritage codes, such as the trucker jacket, and reinvents them with bold twists. Cropped styles with removed collars and center zippers, internal double layers of shearling, and elongated versions with exaggerated tan leather collars showcase Leba’s avant-garde approach to design. The juxtaposition of traditional tweed in black leather and punky cone hardware adds a rebellious edge to the collection.

The theme of the “yin and yang of the future and past meeting right here in the present” resonates throughout the collection. An enveloping black leather anorak, a tweed boxy jacket in slick black leather with punky cone hardware, and classic boyfriend Oxfords with collars turned inward exemplify this juxtaposition. An argyle mohair sweater vest with paint splatters serves as a nod to the underground ethos of “turning the establishment upside down.”

Leba also reintroduces signature text and graffiti-inspired graphics in the Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Whether needle-punched or individually stamped and screen-printed onto chunky knits and grungy t-shirts, these graphics capture the “angsty” core of R13. The assortment, complemented by neutral-toned grungy floral and overdyed plaid layers, showcases the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo.

You can shop for R13 from the current fall/winter 2023 collection at Nordstrom, Shopbop, and at NET-A-PORTER.
