However, the prevailing aesthetic is intentional, artisanal distressing rather than the heavily ripped, aggressively destroyed jeans that dominated parts of the 2010s.
This season, we are talking about “controlled” distressing instead of huge knee holes and the like. Especially natural fading from vintage washes. Many brands are focusing on denim that looks naturally aged rather than aggressively destroyed. Laser fading, subtle holes, repaired seams, and worn edges are replacing excessive ripping.
What’s not coming back are large shredded knees, multiple thigh tears, and heavily destroyed skinny jeans.
