Ksenia Schnaider’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection draws inspiration from the iconic Bjork song “Army of Me” channeling its key themes of self-reliance and resilience.
This collection from the Kyiv-based label blends utilitarian aesthetics, structured silhouettes, and muted military tones capturing the spirit of the times whilst remaining true to the brand’s rejection of self-seriousness and ethos of serious design with a playful heart.
“And if you complain once more, you’ll meet an army of me”
The song serves as a manifesto for the main heroine of the collection, while the clothing becomes the medium through which she expresses her strength, confidence, and inner beauty.
The Zero Waste concept, a hallmark of the Ksenia Schnaider brand since its founding in 2012, appears this season through Zero Waste Tweed made in collaboration with the rural weaving community of Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, woven from denim production waste using traditional loom methods. Reworked tweed-like panels enhance skirts, jeans, and jackets in a bold statement of fashion resilience – a commitment to repurposing materials, embracing sustainability, and the brand’s dedication to reducing industry waste.
Reworked denim, another signature, returns with the “back pocket” concept, repurposing vintage denim patches onto sweaters, trench coats, shirts and even re-re-purposing back onto a new pair of jeans. Continuing to innovate in garment deconstruction, denim top-stitching, traditionally used for durability, features in denim shaped ornaments on casual t-shirts and trousers. The “deconstructed top-stich” concept also informs the creation of intricately quilted denim jackets, skirts, and shorts pushing the boundaries of contemporary denim design.
Ksenia Schnaider has upcycled around 45 tonnes of denim so far, equating to approximately 600 jeans upcycled per month.
And just a reminder, Ksenia Schnaider garments are manufactured in Ukraine.
