NYFW – If I Have To Choose One Pair of Jeans…

So here’s the thing. New York Fashion Week is in full swing and I am once again faced with the big question. The recurring dilemma which has been happening every six months during the spring and fall fashion week events.

Which pair of jeans will take me from the midday fashion events and the afternoon runway shows to the late night fashion week parties?

Sound familiar?

For many years this hasn’t really been an issue. The black skinny jeans were always my “ready-to-go” as well as my boyfriend jeans. Easy times, those.

But what about right now when the skinny jeans have officially been declared “second tier”, and just plain boyfriend jeans are so meh…

What the fashion world demands right now are uber-over sized jeans, hanging down at the crotch and dragging on the floor. So how do I best get this look without seemingly trying too hard?

Unfortunately, everywhere I’ve looked I have not been able to find any women’s jeans that fit this description AND fit me. Maybe it’s my height – overlong and drop-crotch isn’t easy to pull off in my mere 5″4. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that the best way to carry off that look is raiding my boyfriend’s closet and bingo.

He’s over six feet tall – translated into a 36 inch inseam length. And about two sizes above my regular men’s waist size. I decided on a pair of his Levi’s 501 jeans for my oversized baggy denim look,

Below you can see how I styled the jeans for my 12 hour Fashion Week Day.

Levi’s 501 Ripped Vintage Wash jeans. They’re a men’s size 33 to my regular 30 waist in men’s jeans. I wore them rolled up several times and tightened them up with a black belt at the waist. This is how I achieved the top trending oversized baggy fit without looking too much styled? wannabe fashion trendy? 😁

Check out below what I wore the jeans with:

Similar Levi’s 501 Original Fit Jeans, Cropped Sam Edelman Blazer. Men’s striped button-down shirt – similar here, and my all time favorite Balenciaga Combat boots.
