KNWLS S/S 2027 collection and denim emphasis
KNWLS’ Spring/Summer 2027 collection, shown in London this past week, communicates a clear denim message. Furthermore, the designers drew on their Diesel experience, making the collection particularly interesting.
KNWLS is one of the stronger runway confirmations of the low-rise comeback you’re tracking. Nevertheless, it isn’t the old 2000s low-rise skinny formula. For SS27, the more directional version is low-slung, extremely wide, elongated and deliberately imperfect.
That also connects directly with Ksenia Schnaider SS27 (read here): both collections keep wide denim important. Moreover, KNWLS pushes it toward sexy low-rise/deconstructed denim, while Schnaider takes it toward utility and workwear.
The standout denim looks are low-rise, wide-leg jeans with dramatic side slits and raw hems. The jeans are long and fluid, pooling slightly over the ankles.
